South Indian Bank’s handling of Gold Loan / KCC Farmer Loan is a classic example of misleading customers and exploiting auto-debit permissions. I was sanctioned this loan after being clearly informed that the interest rate would be 4% with subsidy under the KCC farmer scheme. Later, without any prior written communication, notice, or consent, the bank unilaterally increased the interest to 11% and directly debited my savings account. Only after the money was taken, the branch offered a verbal explanation saying the loan status had changed. This is not transparency — this is unfair banking practice. Any change in interest rate or loan classification must be informed before debiting customer accounts, not justified after the fact. Such actions put ordinary customers and farmers at a disadvantage and raise serious concerns about ethical standards, internal controls, and customer protection. Many people may not even notice these silent debits until significant money is already taken. This experience has completely eroded my trust in South Indian Bank. I strongly advise customers, especially farmers, to carefully monitor their accounts and demand written confirmations before opting for such loans.

Pathetic and arrogant staff , experienced as a nri account holder. Arrogancy at the peak .

Poor service, insufficient staff; processing my gold loan took more than an hour.

Deposited amount is not reflecting wven after 40 minutes of deposit. Poor service and slow procesding.
